Highpower R&D System Introduction

Highpower Technology places a strong emphasis on technological innovation and adopts an Integrated Product Development (IPD) strategy guided by the principle of "planning, reserving, developing, and applying one generation of products respectively". This strategy has structured a four-tiered R&D framework, focusing on forward-looking research, exploration of new materials, development of new processes and equipment, and creation of new platforms and product designs. The Company seamlessly integrates theoretical exploration, platform advancement, design innovation, and manufacturing processes, fostering synergy across multiple departments.

STRENGTH IN TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION

Highpower Technology excels in technological innovation by combining in-house R&D with partnership R&D. We have achieved significant advancements in lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride battery technology. Through independent research and development, we have mastered key industry technologies including high energy density battery technology, battery electrolyte technology, high-temperature battery technology, fast charging and discharging technology, and high safety battery technology. These achievements underscore our commitment to pioneering advancements in the field.

Highpower has forged partnerships with renowned universities including Central South University, Harbin Institute of Technology, South China University of Technology, and Southern University of Science and Technology. Our objective is to pioneer breakthroughs in new materials and technologies. To achieve this goal, the company is actively engaged in research on cutting-edge technologies such as SEI, overcharging, DCR simulation and analysis, as well as advancements in all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries and lithium-metal batteries. These endeavors aim to provide theoretical foundations for technological advancement, facilitate the industrialization of research outcomes, and bolster the technological prowess and competitive edge of our products.

R&D TALENT ADVANTAGE

Highpower Technology boasts an R&D team comprising over 1,000 individuals, spanning various disciplines such as electrochemistry, materials chemistry, physical chemistry, mechanical design, electronics, and more. By December 31, 2023, we had secured 632 authorized patents, among which 129 were invention patents both domestically and internationally.

The laboratories and test centers within the R&D Institute have earned accreditation from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). Our test center is outfitted with over 4,000 advanced test machines, encompassing a wide array of specialties including chemical analysis, electrothermal analysis, reliability testing, and safety testing. Backed by a professional and highly skilled analysis and testing team with extensive experience, we are capable of independently developing characterization techniques for lithium-ion batteries, ensuring comprehensive product quality testing.
